Reveals GM-only tools (treasure and item generators) below. Kept off by default to keep the sheet focused for players. This preference is remembered on this device only.
Character Creation
Wizard Mode
Current:
Guided mode shows beginner recommendations, plain-English explanations, and complexity ratings. Standard mode shows all options with no hand-holding. Your preference is remembered across sessions.
Advancement
Leveling Mode
Applies to the current character
XP tracks experience points and shows progress to next level. Milestone hides XP and gives the GM direct level-up / level-down controls, ideal for narrative campaigns.
XP Track
Applies to the current character
How much XP each level takes. 2nd level: Slow 3,000, Medium 2,000, Fast 1,300.
HP Rolls: One Roll per Level
Applies on this device
When on, rolling for hit points in the Level-Up Wizard is final: the roll can't be rerolled or traded for the average, even after going back a step.
Campaign Rules
Firearm Misfire
Nat 1 jams firearms (Ultimate Combat)
When enabled, rolls within a firearm's misfire range jam and stop further shots; natural 1 breaks the gun unless Expert Loading spends 1 grit to jam instead. No damage on misfire. Firearms target touch AC in the first range increment regardless.
GM Tools
Roll coin and item hoards by CR, or create priced scrolls/wands for any compendium spell and add them to the open character.
Data
How backups work: Export downloads a JSON file you can keep anywhere (cloud drive, USB, email). Import restores from that file. Pick which characters to bring in if some already exist. A deleted character waits in Recently deleted for 30 days. This browser also keeps a daily snapshot for a week and an IndexedDB mirror, and PathVault asks it to keep your storage, but a downloaded export is the only copy that survives clearing site data or switching devices. Auto spell slots (Spells panel) recalculate daily slots from class tables when enabled; export still saves your prepared spells and used-slot state.
Equipment Loadouts
Create named equipment sets to apply during character creation. Restrict by class so only relevant loadouts appear.

v3.12Mobile Pass — Readability & Layout Fixes
Current
▶
Fixed a real hidden-text bug: the class-tier badges on the Demo Characters cards ("Beginner · Fighter" and similar) could render as a solid black box with no visible text: a `backdrop-filter: blur()` effect that doesn't composite reliably in every browser/GPU. Removed it from that badge and two similar ones (character level badge, card overflow menu button), using a slightly darker solid background instead so the text stays legible everywhere.
Character list stays one column on phones: on larger phones the card grid was switching to two narrow columns and truncating names ("Aldric Ston…"). It now stays a single full-width column on any phone-sized screen.
Floating dice button no longer covers content: the "Dice Tray" pill sits at a fixed spot on screen, and on several panels that spot happened to land right on top of real content on first open: a panel's third hero stat, a row of "+ Lvl N" spell-slot buttons. It's now a compact icon-only circle on mobile instead of a wide text pill, and those two specific collisions are fixed directly.
Armory stat bar was clipping off-screen: the Armor/Shield/Deflect/Natural/Dex/ACP/Speed/Worn-lbs row is 8 columns wide and has no business fitting on one line on a phone. It was silently cutting off the last couple of columns instead of showing them. It now wraps to two clean rows.
Bigger tap targets: the class-skill/prepared-spell toggle circles and the Reserves +/- stepper buttons were sized for a mouse and hard to hit precisely with a thumb; both are now noticeably larger on mobile.
Scroll hint added: the Custom Skills table (8+ columns) has always needed a sideways swipe on a phone with no indication that it does. It now says so.
v3.11Header Search Bar
▶
Search is now an actual search bar: Quick Search was a small icon-sized pill squeezed in with the other header buttons. It now sits on its own in the middle of the top bar, growing to fill the available space (up to a comfortable max width) with room for its full placeholder text and the Ctrl+K hint, much easier to spot and use at a glance. Mobile keeps the compact icon-only version to save space.
v3.10Sidebar Hover Labels
▶
Icon rail now labels itself on hover: the desktop navigation rail is icon-only, which is fast to use once memorized but not always easy to scan at a glance. Hovering (or tabbing to) any rail icon now flies out a small gold-bordered label naming that page (Core, Skills, Attacks, and so on) right next to the icon.
v3.9Ability Score Box — Base/Now Labels
▶
Labeled base vs. current score: when an ability is modified (item bonus, buff, or condition), the two small numbers under the modifier were unlabeled and easy to mix up. They now sit in a bordered "Base / Now" pair so it's immediately clear which is your unmodified score and which is the one currently in effect.
Spacing and row alignment: added breathing room between the modifier number and the new Base/Now box, and fixed a layout quirk where a modified ability's name and modifier sat noticeably higher than its unmodified neighbors in the same row. Every ability box now starts from the same top line regardless of how many bonus lines it's showing.
Consistent styling everywhere: the bordered "Base" box now appears on every ability, not just the ones with an active bonus or penalty, so the whole row reads as one consistent set instead of some scores looking different from others.
v3.8Ability Score Box — Hover Hint Overlap
▶
Fixed: on any ability score with an active bonus or penalty (an item enhancement, a buff, a condition), the "⚄ Roll" hover hint sat at a fixed position at the bottom of the box and overlapped the effective-score/delta chip instead of sitting below it. It now flows naturally under the rest of the box's content, so it never overlaps regardless of how many bonus lines are showing.
v3.7Settings — GM Mode & Visual Polish
▶
GM Mode toggle: a new "GM Mode" switch at the top of Settings hides the "GM Tools" section (Random Treasure and Scroll/Wand generators) by default, so players aren't shown options meant for the table's GM. Turning it on reveals GM Tools immediately; the preference is remembered on this device (not per-character) and survives reloads.
Section dividers re-tinted: Settings section headers now use the same gold hairline rule as every other panel instead of a flat gray divider, matching the rest of the sheet's visual language.
v3.6Notes Panel — Session Chronicle
▶
New panel hero: Notes was the one sheet panel still missing the header stat band every other panel has. It now shows Sessions Logged, Total XP, and Last Session at a glance, updating live as you log or remove entries.
Session cards restyled: individual session-log entries now match the same card recipe used by spell and attack entries: parchment surface, gold accent edge, and a proper display-serif title, instead of an older, dimmer card style.
v3.5Biography — Companion/Familiar Card
▶
Companion card rebuilt: Animal Companions, Familiars, and Eidolons now edit through labeled HP/AC fields laid out the same way as every other field on the Biography panel, in place of the old boxed card with a cramped inline HP/AC row that didn't match anything else on the sheet.
Notes field labeled: the companion's free-text notes area now sits in its own labeled field instead of a bare textarea.
v3.4Feats & Traits — Typography Fix
▶
Row names corrected: feat, trait, drawback, class feature, and race ability names were rendering in a plain sans-serif font left over from an earlier layout pass. Every other list on the sheet uses the display serif for row names. Fixed so Feats & Traits matches the rest of the app.
v3.3Spellbook Panel Redesign
▶
Spell cards rebuilt: each spell now shows its name, school, saving throw DC, and prepared marker on one line, with casting time/range/duration condensed into a single line below, replacing a denser layout with a long row of individually-bordered tag pills for every detail.
Duplicate stat cards removed: Base Spell DC and Concentration were shown twice: once in the panel header, once in a boxed stat card below it. The boxed duplicate is gone; the header now holds only the controls that need editing (casting ability, caster level, prepared/spontaneous).
Circle headers now show prepared counts: level bands read "DC 17 · 4 prepared" instead of just the bare DC.
Two display bugs fixed: spell names were rendering in the wrong font (sans-serif instead of the display serif used everywhere else), and each school's accent color was silently ignoring the light theme due to a leftover style override.
v3.2Gilded Atlas Visual Redesign
▶
A new look across the whole sheet: Playfair Display headings, a redrawn ink-and-gold color palette, and an icon-only navigation rail replaced the previous theme. Every panel now opens with a header band showing its three most useful stats at a glance (HP and AC on Core, Base Spell DC and slots left on Spells, load and gold on Armory, and so on).
Consistent row styling: skills, attacks, spells, inventory, and feats all adopted the same family of list treatments: ruled ledger rows for stats-heavy lists, accented cards for richer entries, instead of each panel having its own one-off look.
Gear panel merged: Equipment and Inventory combined into one "Armory" panel with the paperdoll, weapons, coin purse, and carried items all in one place.
v3.1Computed Feat & Trait Bonuses
▶
Auto-applied stat bonuses: Feats, traits, and alternate racial traits that grant an always-on bonus (saves, skills, AC, CMB/CMD, initiative, concentration, HP, crit confirmation, caster level, per-maneuver CMB) are now detected by name and added automatically wherever that stat is shown. Look for the green "⚡ feat/trait" badge next to a total. Feats/traits with a computed effect show an "⚡ Auto" tag in the Feats & Traits panel.
Conditional notes, not silent totals: Narrow bonuses (e.g. "+2 vs. undead," "+1 while flanking," "+1 CL for fire spells") are surfaced as read-only "⚡" text next to the relevant stat instead of being folded into the flat total. The sheet can't detect the target/situation automatically, so these stay visible for you to apply by eye rather than being misrepresented as universal.
Please double-check your Misc fields: if you were already manually tracking one of these bonuses in a save/skill/init/CMB/CMD Misc column (the v3.0 notes above specifically suggested this for feats like Improved Initiative), you'll now see it counted twice until you remove the manual entry. The automatic badge replaces the need for it.
v3.0Character Sheet Parity (Major)
▶
Tier 1 — Data Fields: Biography panel split into Identity and Physical Description sections; added Hair, Eyes, Height, Weight, Handedness, and Languages fields. CMB and CMD now appear as full stat blocks on the Abilities & Combat panel with formula breakdowns. Speed is now an editable field (stored per-character). SR (Spell Resistance), DR (Damage Reduction), and SF (Spell Failure %) added as editable combat stats. Inline misc fields for Initiative, CMB, and CMD allow feat/item bonuses (e.g. Improved Initiative +4) to be tracked directly.
Tier 2 — Panel Upgrades: Saving Throws now include per-save Magic and Misc bonus inputs (for items like Cloak of Resistance and feats), plus a Conditional notes field (e.g. "+2 vs. poison"). AC Breakdown section added to the main combat panel: eight editable components (Armor, Shield, DEX, Size, Natural, Deflection, Dodge, Misc) with a live-computed Total. DEX component stays synced to the current ability score automatically.
Tier 3 — Skills Overhaul: Skill table expanded with Race/Trait and Competence bonus columns (in addition to the existing Misc column) so every bonus source can be tracked separately. Total formula now includes all four columns. Custom Skills section below the standard list: add Lore, Perform, Tradecraft, or any free-form skill with a user-editable name, ability stat dropdown, and the same four bonus columns. Custom skills can be added and removed individually.
Tier 4 — Weapon Detail: Each attack now stores Size (Fine through Colossal), Reach, Range Increment, and Weight. These are shown inline on the attack card and are fully editable via the Add Attack modal. Existing weapons on older characters are automatically patched with defaults.
Backward compatibility: All new fields are automatically patched onto characters loaded from localStorage or imported from JSON files via the centralised patchChar() function.
v2.2Character Portraits
▶
Upload a portrait image for any character, shown in the sheet header and on the character card
Images are cropped to a square from center and compressed to JPEG at 256×256px
Portrait stored as base64 on the character object, persists through save/export/import
Hover overlay shows "Change Portrait"; hover the avatar to reveal a remove button
v2.0Bug Fixes & Polish
▶
Fixed double ++ sign on skill totals, ability modifiers, and saving throws
Fixed Export All: anchor element now appended to DOM before click, URL revocation deferred by 1s
Added fallback export: opens JSON in a new tab if Blob/createObjectURL fails
Compendium rule lookups now produce fully structured d20pfsrd-style entries
Resolver prompt hardened: single-word PF1e mechanics always resolve to found:true with type "rule"
Selecting the "Rule" category chip bypasses Phase 1 resolution entirely
v1.9Equipment Paperdoll
▶
Replaced the flat equipment list with a full interactive paperdoll: an SVG body silhouette with labelled slot nodes on each side
Body zones highlight in gold when hovering the corresponding slot
Animated pulsing gold dots appear on the body wherever a slot is filled
Clicking any slot opens a slot-filtered item picker
One-click × to unequip any slot directly from the paperdoll
Live AC breakdown bar showing armor, shield, deflection, natural armor, and DEX contributions
New Wrists equipment slot added
v1.8Add Item Picker
▶
Replaced the plain item name input with a full item browser modal featuring 130+ PF1e items
Live search with 120ms debounce: filters by name as you type
